Current Lake Level
Aug 16, 2016

 Notice: Current lake level 8/16

The current gage reading on 8/16  is 9.05   compared to  9.1  at two weeks ago and 9.35 in mid July. The DNR prescribed gage reading for this month is between 8.5 and 9.0

There are no boards removed from the dam.

Rain total for the month of July was 2.73 inches which is .65 inches below average for this time of year.   Year to date is .69 inches below average.  Rainfall thus far in August has been minimal. It is raining as this notice is being prepared.

This time of year any rain is mostly evaporated or transpired so on the average we expect lake levels to drop further.  If all of the boards are in place the lake level would be as low as 8.8.

Many of you have already noticed the drop in levels and difficulty with boating so unless we get excessive rain the situation will not improve. Sevastopol will let the level rise a little but they are bound by the DNR permit so expect levels in the current range for the rest of the summer.

Next report will be sent in two weeks.
