Lake Level (End of July)
Aug 02, 2016

Notice: Current lake level end of July

The current gage reading is 9.1    compared to  9.6   at the end of June and 9.35 in mid July. The DNR prescribed gage reading for this month is between 8.5 and 9.0

Boards: 2 removed 7/8 but debris is accumulating on the grates which reduces the effective flow. One board is due to be replaced on 1 August in an effort to slow the outflow rate.

Rain total for the month of July was 2.73 inches which is .65 inches below average for this time of year.   Year to date is .69 inches below average.

August rain is mostly evaporated or transpired so on the average we expect lake levels to drop further.  If all of the boards are in place the lake level would be static at 8.8.

Many of you have already noticed the drop in levels and difficulty with boating so unless we get excessive rain the situation will not improve.

Next report will be sent in two weeks.
